    We recently purchased a cabin in the Smokies and Ryan Starkey was highly recommended by our real estate agent as the "go-to" guy to have the work completed that came up on our home inspection. He was able to take our list of updates and also make recommendations to improve the aesthetic of our cabin. When we approached him with any updates we found, he was always open and quick to respond "I can definitely take care of that". It is nice to know that there is an individual is willing to treat our cabin with the same level of TLC that we would.     Ryan was willing to step in and take over an absolute mess that a previous, unreliable contractor had made while working on the roof of my sunroom addition and the adjacent concrete patio. I can’t say enough about how persistent and thorough Ryan was when it came not only to assessing and correcting my project needs but also how communicative he was throughout the process.     Ryan was referred to me by another subcontactor to assist me with some urgent punch-list items near the end of our renovation. This included plumbing, electrical, appliance-installation, and finish-trim work. Ryan is professional, prompt, and full of knowledge. This guy is a rare-find amongst all the other contractors out there, who actually takes pride in his work and provides a high-quality product. AND he shows up when he says he will.     I recently hired Ryan and his crews to replace a deck and flooring in my screened porch. His team did an excellent job and quality work. It was done in a very timely way.     After getting several quotes, we decided to work with Ryan's company to build a custom screened in area for our back porch. His extensive experience provided invaluable ideas and solutions for various items that came up through the build. The timeliness of his follow up was spot on and he never failed to deliver on execution. We will be using him for future upcoming projects. There are shady GC's and he's not one of them.     Always reachable, by call or text — a necessary trait of your go to handyman when managing STRs from afar. He did a great job squeezing in our installation despite the short notice so that we could get up and going for the tail end of the holiday season. I hope to not require the services of a handyman too often, but he’ll get the calls when I do. See more See less

    We have been using Starkeys Home Improvement services for the past 3 years at our house on Douglas Lake, and can recommend them highly. The quality of their work has been outstanding. They have handled both major and minor improvements and repairs for us, including roof, plumbing and electrical repairs, and installation of windows, ceiling coverings, floor, and floor coverings, window treatments, electric door locks, changing light bulbs on our 25 ft ceilings, and even hanging pictures. We have found their pricing very fair and have never been surprised by an extra fee over their original quote. We will undoubtedly be using their services again in the future and highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable and high-quality home maintenance.
